igigyou.com

igigyou.com has an interesting concept. They act as a venue for bands, DJ’s, comedians and venues to find each other. The concept has can definitely take off if executed correctly. The basic premise is that a musician (or DJ or comedian) registers himself (or herself) and is found by venues seeking talent. On the flip side, a venue (bar, club, lounge, etc) can list themselves and talent can contact them to see if they can perform there. There are a lot of matching services out there for connecting 2 parties such as ServiceMagic, WyzAnt, and of course.. Craigslist.
What’s the concept?
Connecting talent with venues.
Why should you care?
Unknown talent can really hop on this to get bookings. The site is still new, so there aren’t many gigs listed, but it definitely shows promise.
Will this company last 5 years?
Hard to say. They don’t seem to have a monetization model as of yet, but perhaps they’re just trying to grow their userbase. If they do want to make it to 5 years, they definitely have to play catchup with their technology.
