ShamoonTrustFX - Business Ratings You Can Trust On Quality Local Businesses

May 13, 2008 – 11:22 am

TrustFX was created with great intentions of being a database full of all sorts of local businesses, that were all graded based on a rating system. For example, if you wanted to look up a certain professional business in your area, then you could rely on TrustFX to provide you with honest reviews from customers who have had experience with the company. These consumers can also rate the company on a scale based on how well the business performed their services for the company. The companies that participate in TrustFX can submit their profile, and wait for the reviews to come in from consumers in the area.

However, some experts have offered a lot of perspective on how this process of ratings from customers can turn into a pay-per-post situation, which would dillute the original concept. The statement made by the CEO of TrustFX, Andrew Ward, mentioned at a Meetup in New York that ratings might be tied to incentives; this makes that kind of risk predominant.  They also only list results from companies that have submitted their profile, or registered with TrustFX. It would be much more thorough, if the companies were collected like a database instead.

What’s the concept?

Creating a way for customers to be more trustworthy in their local companies, by establishing a ratings process.

Why should you care?

This is a way for you to actually learn about the kinds of businesses in your area, and whether or not they can suit your needs based on the experiences of others.

How do they make money?

Companies can register for free, and create more detailed profiles by becoming paid members.

Will this company last 5 years?

More than likely; the process is going to catch on to a lot of businesses at some point, despite the risk of the system of ratings turning into a scheme that allows companies to pay for posts that make their business look better. That may serve to make the website last even longer.
