iRent2u.Com - The Online Rental Marketplace
May 14, 2008 – 10:04 am
We all know there are several places online where you can buy pretty much anything you can think of; both eBay and Amazon have made their own little niche corners of the internet shopping industry. However, what about people who don’t necessarily want to buy anything? Or only need something for one time use? And what about the people who have stuff they would like to rent to people? This is the niche corner of the Internet marketplace that for some reason, has largely gone undiscovered.
iRent2u.Com answers all those questions, with an easy to use, free to register, rental marketplace community that welcomes all renters, and all lenders. The site also contains a blog for writing about new rental opportunities, or renters seeking rentals in specific niches or items. More than half a dozen different newspapers and review sites have had nothing but good things to say about iRent2u.Com. That’s pretty impressive, considering the site is still in its beta testing phase.
What’s the concept?
A marketplace and community specifically for renters, and lenders.
Why should you care?
Well, if you have anything you want to rent out, or if you’re looking for something specific to rent, then you should definitely care.
How do they make money?
iRent2u.Com charges a 5% trnasaction fee, plus $1 service fee, but only on successful transactions.
Will this company last 5 years?
Depends on whether or not there is actually a thriving market for renters on the web, but I think there is.
Suggestions for improvements?
I think they could definitely work on their FAQ section, as well as expanding what sort of payments they accept.
