ShamoonTikatok.Net - Imagine a Story. Create a Book.

May 16, 2008 – 10:27 am

Tikatok.net is one of the best ideas for children that I have seen online for a long time. Much of the Internet is centered toward marketing to adults, or teens; kid friendly websites are in the minority. Tikatok however, is not just for children, it actually centers around literary development for children. With Tikatok, your children can publish their own books, to treasure forever, and share with family and friends. This makes your child a published author!

This is how it works. After registration, which is a simple process, you and your child can sit down, and figure out what he or she wants to write a book about. Afterwards, it’s your child’s job to draw the pictures for the book. Next, you either mail in the pictures so that they can be put together and uploaded into book form. Or! You can scan the pictures, and upload them into your account on Tikatok. Then you can arrange the pictures and text however your child would like and save it. There you are! Your child’s fisrt book.

What’s the concept?

Children creating real books.

Why should you care?

If you have an idea for a self-illustrated, and self written children’s book, it’s a great idea for gifts to other families, if you don’t have children. You can also build the books for your own kids, or have your children help through the process.

How do they make money?

Registering and creating books with Tikatok is free; the only thing you have to pay for is the printed copy of the book. Hard-cover and paper-back copies of the books are about $20.

Will this company last 5 years?

I hope so, this is a great idea with a lot of potential.

Suggestions for improvements?

I don’t really have any, I think they’ve done an awesome job so far.
